Our Story
Why I started Club Israel
Sam Besser, founder of Club Israel
Hi, I'm Sam Besser. I grew up in Chicago, and after high school I volunteered to serve in the Israel Defense Forces, where I served as a combat soldier and earned the rank of sergeant. Afterward I returned to the U.S. to study at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign — but my heart never left the Land of Israel.
Today I live in Israel with my four children, surrounded every day by the history that shaped our people. I created Club Israel to strengthen that connection to the land for everyone — whether you live in Israel or anywhere across the world — and to share a love and knowledge of the unique history of Israel and its peoples.

Why is shipping & handling so low? Each artifact is packaged in its own envelope right in Israel. Instead of mailing them one by one across the world, we send all of that month's envelopes together in a single bulk shipment to the United States — where they're dropped into the domestic mail to you individually. Shipping in bulk costs a fraction of individual international postage, and that saving is passed directly on to you.
